A Vassalboro man is charged with murder in connection with the death of a Waterville man. Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says Courtney Shea, 30, is the one who notified police of a body in the trailer next door.

State police say Shea called the Kennebec County Sheriff's office early Friday morning and told them he had discovered the body. He said he found a man's body in an abandoned mobile home next door to the home Shea shares with his mother on Route 201 in Vassalboro.

An autopsy by the State Medical Examiner's Office revealed that the victim, 69-year-old Thomas Namer of Waterville died from stab wounds. Police say the two men had known each other for some time.

Shea was arrested Friday on a probation violation and has been held at the Kennebec County Jail. McCausland said Shea was notified this afternoon that he is charged with murder. He will likely make his first court appearance on the murder charge either Tuesday or Wednesday at Kennebec Superior Court in Augusta.
