Parts of Hancock and Washington counties could see up to 8 inches of snow Saturday night into Sunday morning, while the rest of the Maine coast get up to 6 inches of snow, forecasters said.

The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Hancock and Washington counties from 4 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday. The weather service said those areas could get 4 to 8 inches of snow.

The agency said the low overnight in Machias will be around 8 degrees, with wind chill values as low as 8 degrees below zero. Winds could gust up to 30 mph overnight in parts of Hancock and Washington counties.

The National Weather Service in Gray has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for coastal Maine cities from Waldo to York counties. Forecasters said those areas could get 3 to 6 inches of snow.
