Unity College’s Hunter & Huggers Dinner

The folks at Unity College hold this dinner each year to spotlight its "Buy Local" approach. And they have an awesome menu of Maine favorites! It's all happening Wednesday night at Unity College.

The menu this year features Tomato Bruschetta, Assorted Maine Cheeses, Roast of Venison, Fresh Maine Lobster, Zucchini Tomato Tart, Vegan Strudel, Roasted Red New Potatoes with Smoky Paprika, Sauteed Fresh Veggies, Local Breads, Chocolate Zucchini Cake, Indian Pudding, and Maple Creams! YUMMY!!

Dining Services Manager Lorey Duprey says the name is meant to be a tongue-in-cheek stereotype, good for hunters and (tree) huggers. She says it's important for students to know where the college's food comes from. "The Hunters and Huggers dinner highlights Maine's local food traditions, and presents a variety of approaches to sustainable eating," says Lorey.

The Hunter and Huggers dinner will be held on Wednesday, September 29th from 4:30 to 6pm in the Unity College Cafeteria, Wyman Commons in North/South Founders Hall, on the Unity College Campus. Everyone's invited to stop by and have an amazing dinner for only $8 per person, $7 for faculty and staff.
