Construction continues to replace the I-95 overpass on Union Street and that's going to cause some detours overnight for folks traveling on the highway. Detours will be posted.

The Maine Department of Transportation says both Southbound lanes of I-95 will be closed to traffic Monday and Tuesday overnights from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detours will be clearly marked, but motorists will want to factor in a little extra time if they're traveling that way.

On Wednesday, the southbound travel lane from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. will be reduced to one lane. All closures involve I-95 from the Broadway Exit to the Hammond Street Exit.

The Maine Department of Transportation warns motorists to help keep construction sites safe. Slow down and drive at the posted work site speed, pay attention and merge carefully when directed, maintain a safe following distance, and be patient when there are delays. And always wear your seatbelt.

Remember, those crews are out there making our roads better!
