UMFK To Educate Students & Staff on Ebola
The University of Maine at Fort Kent released a statement Wednesday afternoon after public concern regarding one of its students being the boyfriend of Kaci Hickox, the nurse who returned to Maine after a stint in West Africa treating Ebola patients.
In response to campus and community concern, UMFK has developed and is implementing a plan to provide education and counseling services to students, staff and faculty.
The college assures it’s dedicated to securing the safety of all of its students, as well as educating staff, faculty and students on the scientific research and medical guidance related to Ebola. The university is working closely with local healthcare providers and law enforcement agencies to maintain a high level of knowledge and engagement with their campus community.
