Four players on the University of Maine's Women's Hockey team have been suspended over conduct the college says is unacceptable.

Spokeswoman Margaret Nagle told the BDN the suspensions are indefinite, and were the result of 'violations of the student-athlete code of conduct.' The issues stem from two separate incidents.

Sophomore defenseman Maggie Blair was arrested by Orono Police on Sunday for allegedly operating a vehicle under the influence of intoxicants. In a separate incident, Senior forward Cailey Hutchinson, Senior defenseman Alyson Matteau, and Junior defenseman Brittany Kucera were allegedly involved in an altercation at a restaurant and bar. So far, no charges have been filed against them.

The ruling means that the team will be short-handed for the last regular-season game on Saturday against the Vermont Catamounts.
