Bottled water that carries the brand names for Shaw's and Hannaford are being recalled due to possible E. Coli contamination. Customers are advised not to drink the water and return it to the store for a refund.

Shaw's brand water and Hannaford's 'Nature's Place' water both come from the Niagara Bottling Company. A spokesperson for the company says no E. Coli was detected in the spring water delivered to its plants or the finished products. However, the bacteria was found in one of the springs the company uses to obtain water so, to be safe, the bottles are being recalled.

E. Coli bacteria causes illness that can be very severe. Symptoms include cramping, nausea, diarrhea, headache, and vomiting. There have been no reports of illness.

The Niagara Bottling Company issued the following statement on its Facebook page. Then click the button below to see if your bottled water is affected by the recall.
