Two people died on Maine's roads overnight, in separate but similar accidents in Auburn and Falmouth.

According to WCSH-TV, the Auburn crash happened Tuesday night on Washington Street. A woman was killed when she drove her vehicle into the back of a tractor trailer. State Police had just turned on their lights to pull her over after noticing her speeding on the turnpike when she took the exit and crashed. Her identity hasn't been released.

In Falmouth, a man in his 30s was killed after his vehicle was struck from behind at around 7 p.m. State Police say the accident happened along I-295 and the driver of the second vehicle was a teenage girl. She was not injured. The man's identity is being with held pending notification of family. Motorists were stranded on I-295 for several hours while the accident was cleared.
