Bangor firefighters have had a very busy day, with two fires on the same street.

The first fire broke out at around midnight Thursday at 62 Third Street. It heavily damaged a five-unit, three-story apartment building and displaced five tenants.

A plume of smoke rose over Bangor again just before 4 in the afternoon from a fire at 103 Third Street. A portion of the street was blocked off while crews battled that blaze.

There's no word yet on what caused the fires or if they are related.
