One man is dead following a two car crash in the town of Dexter this morning.

Dexter Police Chief Kevin Wintle says the crash happened near the Garland town line in Dexter this morning just before 4 O'clock.

Chief Wintle says a man driving a white Ford Ranger crossed the center line and struck a Chevy Impala head on. That man was killed in the crash.

Police are still working on identifying next of kin so the man killed has not been publicly identified.

Chief Wintle says chat caused the other driver to cross the center lane is under investigation and he was transported with non life-threatening injuries to Mayo Regional Hospital.

Chief Wintle says Dexter police were assisted by the Somerset County Sheriff's Department, Maine State Police and fire departments from Dexter and Garland.
