Two people have been arrested for allegedly trafficking in heroin in Kennebec County.

Over the past two months, Maine Drug Enforcement Agents have been working with Oakland Police investigating persons from New York City selling heroin in Oakland. Agents conducted several undercover purchases of heroin from occupants of an apartment at 19 Hill Street. Early this morning, two people were arrested at the residence and nearly 100 grams of heroin was seized, along with $1,800 in cash, and other evidence of drug sales.

Arrested were Kendell Cagle, age 27 from New York City (who goes by the street name 'Gudda') and Shayna Shaw-Jenney, age 27 of Oakland. Shaw-Jenney lives in the apartment that was searched. Both were charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Heroin. Cagle's bail was set at $25,000 cash and Shaw-Jenney's bail was $5,000. The charges are aggravated due to the amount of drugs seized and because of Cagle's prior felony drug conviction in New York.

Agents are continuing the investigation and more arrests are likely.
