A South Carolina man and a Bangor man were charged after police responded to a reported stabbing early Sunday morning near Diamonds Gentleman’s Club in Bangor.

After responding at approximately 3:20 a.m., officers located a man who was bleeding from his head, the Bangor Police Department said Monday.

The victim was transported to the hospital by a Bangor Fire Department ambulance.

Police said the suspect, later identified as Gregory Watson, 37, of Bennettsville, South Carolina, fled on foot toward Center Street. He was captured by police a short time later at a nearby convenience store.

Police said during the course of their investigation, detectives learned that Watson and Michael Ocean, 28, of Bangor assaulted two individuals earlier in the evening.

Watson was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault. Ocean was summoned for one count of misdemeanor assault.

Watson was taken to the Penobscot County Jail, where bail was set at $10,000. He was expected to be arraigned Monday afternoon.
