A State Police Cruiser had to jump into the median when his parked cruiser was struck by a passing vehicle in Veazie.

According to WABI-TV, it was around 7:30 Wednesday evening, when State Police Trooper Chris Hashey parked his cruiser in the passing lane of Interstate 95 in Veazie, near the Bangor line. He was out of the cruiser, removing a dead coyote from the pavement, when his cruiser was struck by a passing car driven by 59-year-old Lori Ireland of Hampden.

Ireland said she didn't notice the cruiser until it was too late to avoid it. Hashey had to jump into the median to avoid being hit. No one was seriously injured, but both vehicles were totaled. Ireland was given a ticket for improperly passing an emergency vehicle.
