Garth Brooks wins Entertainer of the Year, then admits he lip-synced through his CMA Awards performance. Does it matter? Maybe, but his live set of "Ask Me How I Know" wasn't going to make this Top 5 anyway. Wednesday night's show was otherwise much too stacked with emotion.

From the Montgomery Gentry tribute to the Glen Campbell memorial to Carrie Underwood's powerful song for the victims of the Route 91 Harvest Festival, this CMA Awards was a little sad at times, but didn't ever feel too heavy. Hosts Brad Paisley and Underwood did a nice job adding levity and finding a balance between real life and entertainment. They leaned heavy into a theme of unity, and it never felt forced.

Keith Urban was the only artist who debuted new music, although Sugarland hinted at something big coming during their introduction of the Vocal Duo of the Year nominees. Could there be a new song called "Still the Same" coming? Their social media accounts would have you thinking it's true.

That tease made our Top 5 Moments From the 2017 CMA Awards list, alongside Underwood, MoGent, Eric Church and Urban's "Female." Watch to see who had the No. 1 highlight and tell us where we got it right and wrong in the comments section below.
