Today is the 2015 Moose Hunting Permit Deadline

The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife reminds you, today is you last chance to apply for a spot in Maine's annual moose lottery. The annual drawing will be on June 13 in Bethel. The drawing coincides with the three-day Bethel Maine Moose Festival, which kicks off on June 12.

This year only 2,815 moose permits will be issued. The 2015 season will have fewest permit holders in 12 years.

Hunters have to apply online by 11:59 PM on Thursday.

Last year 53,577 sportsmen applied for a moose permit.
