Toby Keith brought his Interstates & Tailgates Tour to Darling's Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor on Thursday.

The show was opened by Waterloo Revival, a country duo led by George Birge and Cody Cooper. The group is currently based out of Nashville, TN, but Birge and Cooper are originally from Austin, TX and have been friends since middle school.

The band played songs from their two EPs, Little Lightning and Front Row, including the singles "Hit the Road," "Bad for You" and "Racin' to the Red Light."

The group also covered "Purple Rain" from Prince, Maroon 5's "Harder to Breathe" and "Can't You See" from the Marshall Tucker Band.

Well Maine... That was one of the best nights ever! 😎🙏🏻

Toby Keith opened with "Haven't Had a Drink All Day," and then went straight into "American Ride."

His set included "A Few More Cowboys," a new song that Taste of Country says "appears to be the lead single from a forthcoming new project."

Keith took a moment to talk about the late Merle Haggard, telling the crowd that Haggard was one of his biggest influences, and he was always very kind to Keith and his family. Keith then went into a medley of Haggard's songs, including "Mama Tried," "Today I Started Loving You Again," "Workin' Man Blues," "Silver Wings" and "Okie from Muskogee."

Keith's set also included "Made in America," "Beers Ago," "I Wanna Talk About Me," "Whiskey Girl," "35 mph Town," "Beer For My Horses," "Who’s Your Daddy?," "Red Solo Cup," "As Good As I Once Was," "I Love This Bar," "Who's That Man," "You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This," "Country Comes to Town," "Should've Been a Cowboy," "How Do You Like Me Now?!," "A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action" and a cover of "Stranglehold" from Ted Nugent.

Next up for the Interstates & Tailgates Tour: a show at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA on Friday.

As for Darling's Waterfront Pavilion, the next country show at the venue is Friday, July 29, when Darius Rucker comes to town with Dan + Shay and Michael Ray. Miranda Lambert will perform on the Bangor waterfront on Sunday, August 21, and Rascal Flatts will headline this summer's final country concert at Darling's on Sunday, September 4.
