Okay, I'd be lying right now if I told you that the spider in the picture above didn't bother me--it does. It's one of those phobias that I developed as a kid when I was elected to get a baseball that rolled under a house with no foundation. It was dark, but when my eyes finally adjusted, I realized I was surrounded by fifty to sixty spiders of all sizes. Much to the delight of my baseball playing friends, I screamed like a little girl. I have gotten better, but ever since then I have what professionals call arachnophobia. But I'm not the only one.

The most notable people with arachnophobia are those that expose their fear on television, like those whose profession it is to deliver the weather or news.

Those eight-legged freaks always show up at the most inopportune moments.
