The rule of thumb in Maine is always that spring is not truly here until the ice is out on Moosehead Lake. Well...spring is here! This time-lapse video of the lake shows the ice going out. You can almost feel the air warming as you watch!
The Moosehead Lake webcam is set up at the Birches Resort and shows the progression of melting ice over the past few days. The images at the end of the video are especially beautiful..and make me want to pack a lunch and sit on the shore!
