Four people, including three firefigters were hurt in a blaze in downtown Gardiner last night.

According to WMTW, the fire on Water Street damaged several buildings, including homes and local businesses.

Fire Chief Al Nelson said three firefighters were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a roof collapsed and they were hit by falling bricks, and a woman who lives in one of the buildings suffered smoke inhalation.

More than 10 departments from across central Maine were called to the scene.

The Red Cross is assisting those who were displaced by the fire.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the blaze.
