Three people face charges in connection with a heroin bust in Sanford.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency recently arrested 25-year-old Mallory Marcheterre, 30-year-old Michael Randall, and 30-year-old Vanessa Fontaine. All three people live at Ledgestone Court in Sanford and are charged with Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs. Randall's bail was set at $15,000 cash, while the other two had their bail set at $10,000 cash.

After a two-month investigation into the trio, agents learned that Marcheterre and Randall were planning to make a trip to the Lowell-Lawrence, Massachusetts area to pick up an unknown amount of heroin/fentanyl. MDEA and Federal drug agents, State Police with a K-9, and Sanford Police worked together to stop Marcheterre and Randall as they arrived at their home in Sanford. A search of the vehicle turned up 68 grams of heroin/fentanyl, with another 14 grams found inside the residence. At last report, all three remained at the York County Jail, awaiting an initial court appearance.

Anyone with information about this investigation or the illegal sale of drugs in this state is urged to contact the MDEA office closest to them or by calling the MDEA tip-line at 800-452-6457.
