Three men were arrested at a Saco motel and charged with trafficking in heroin early Thursday morning.

Local and state police and agents from the U.S. DEA raided a room at the Brookside Motel at about 2:00 a.m.

Police arrested 21-year-old Elqui Javier of Bronx, New York, 39-year-old Rasmane Sankara of West Africa and 45-year-old Christopher Ayotte of Biddeford.

Police say 166 grams of heroin, 30 grams of crack cocaine and $4,780 in cash were seized from the room.

Police are working to determine if the drugs are connected to a pair of suspected drug overdose deaths in Biddeford on Wednesday.

One man was found dead in a vehicle in the parking lot of Southern Maine Medical Center. The second was found dead in a Biddeford home.

The three men were taken to the York County Jail.
