Presque Isle-based financial services firm Thompson-Hamel, LLC has reached an agreement to purchase the Bangor-based Farrington Financial Group.

The announcement comes as respected Bangor businessman Frank Farrington retires 45 years after founding Farrington Financial. Since 1971, the company has developed a client base from Fort Kent to southern Maine.

Both of these firms have long been affiliated with Ameritas Life Insurance Company and Ameritas Investment Corporation, providing their clients with estate & retirement planning, investment and insurance services. Thompson-Hamel, LLC also provides payroll processing services to its clients throughout Maine.

"We are honored Frank Farrington has entrusted Thompson-Hamel, LLC with his client base, and we wish Frank well in retirement,” said Brian Hamel, Managing Partner of Thompson-Hamel. “We have a great deal of respect for Frank and his family, and we are looking forward to servicing Frank’s clients with the same level of professionalism, integrity, honesty, work ethic and competency his clients have come to expect.”
