A Tenant's Harbor man is facing charges for the sinking of a lobster boat that's already sent two people to jail.

Jeff Nichols of the Maine Department of Marine Resources says 47-year-old Alan Norwood of Tenants Harbor is charged with Aggravated Criminal Mischief in connection with the intentional sinking of a 36-foot lobster boat owned by Joshua Hupper. Earlier this summer, 22-year-old Vincent Hilt of Vinalhaven and 20-year-old Devin Meklin of Warren were charged with felony criminal mischief and felony theft for the same incident.

Since their arrests, Norwood has been under investigation by the Marine Patrol, who suspected that he was the one who arranged to have the boat sunk. Nichols says evidence suggests a dispute between Norwood and Hupper is a possible motive.

If convicted, Norwood faces up to 5 years in prison plus fines. He could also be ordered to pay restitution to Hupper.
