It's the 30th Anniversary of the Q-106.5 Pine Tree Camp Egg Ride and we're hoping to raise a lot of money to help send kids to camp. But we need your help!

For anyone who is unfamiliar with the Q-106.5 Egg Ride, let me explain how it works. Throughout the month of January, we take financial pledges from our listeners that will benefit the Pine Tree Camp in Rome, Maine. The camp serves children and adults with disabilities and has a no-camper-turned-away policy. What that means is that every child who wants to go to camp is welcome, despite their parents' ability to pay. So...if the parents say they can only afford to pay $100, your donations to the Egg Ride will be put into play to make up the rest of the tuition. It's an awesome cause! And you can see in this video, that I took over the summer at the ribbon-cutting for a brand new all-access playground, what a beautiful place it is!

Why do we call it an 'egg ride?' Because for each $50 in total pledges that we receive at the radio station, each of our celebrity riders has to carry a raw egg in their snowsuit at the ride on February 6th. This year's riders will include all the members of the Q-106.5 on-air team - Scott Miller, Amanda McDonald, Erik Owens, and me! Plus we'll be joined by Todd Simcox and Wayne Harvey of WABI-TV 5, and some other as-yet-to-be-announced folks! Including, quite possibly, some of the stars of 'North Woods Law,' who love to throw their eggs around!

The Egg Ride is a small portion of a much larger Snowmobile Ride-In weekend that's held the first weekend of February. Our Egg Riders join this year will join the 43rd Annual Dysart's Snowmobile Ride-In, which is a much larger group of snowmobilers that make the trek from the Hungry Hollows 76ers Snowmobile Club in Levant to the Newport Elementary School. (that's a change this year from the community center) In addition, the festivities include food and fun all weekend!

You can donate a couple of different ways to our Egg Ride. Either give us a call weekdays at (207) 991-9500 or you can donate online. It's not necessary to donate $50, even though we count the eggs in $50 increments. Donate what you can afford and it will be greatly appreciated! We say it every year, but it would be so amazing if each and every one of our listeners pledged a dollar. We'd have our most successful year ever! Thanks, in advance, for your pledge. Once the ride-in is done, we'll send you a letter to let you know where to send your donation!
