The Duck of Justice made an appearance over the weekend at the Travis Mills Foundation Retreat for wounded veterans.

It's a beautiful facility that retired Staff Sgt Travis Mills has revamped into a completely accessible resort for others who have been injured while serving our country. At the Maine Chance Lodge & Retreat, vets will be able to fish and enjoy the outdoors. But they will also be able to find fellowship and comfort in the company of others who are struggling with many of the same challenges that they are.

The retreat was created by the Travis Mills Foundation, that works to better the lives of disabled veterans. Staff Sgt Mills lost all four of his limbs in an explosion while on routine patrol in Afghanistan. He travels the country, visiting Veterans' hospitals and acting as a motivational speaker.

Over the weekend, the Bangor Police Department's Duck of Justice showed support for the organization after being requested to make an appearance at the retreat's grand opening. The DOJ has been keeping a low profile since having some repairs done, but obviously his handlers felt strongly about this amazing cause and allowed him to visit.
