New information was released today in the form of a police affidavit in the case of murdered teenager Nichole Cable. The information suggests that Cable had an issue with Dube the day before she disappeared, and that she believed she was meeting Bryan Butterfield at the end of her road on the night of her disappearance. It was later revealed that the Butterfield Facebook account had been fabricated by someone else.

The police account is chilling. Nichole Cable was getting ready to meet who she believed to be Bryan Butterfield on the night of May 12th and, as she got ready, she was texting Kyle Dube about how excited and nervous she was. Dube and Cable knew each other and the text conversation suggests that she was confiding in a friend.

Another text conversation on the morning of May 12th between Cable and her boyfriend tells of trouble between the teen and her suspected attacker. Cable tells her boyfriend that Dube was giving her a ride to meet some friends when "Kyle was trying to kiss and grope me. I kept trying to push him off me and he wouldn't stop." The text goes on to say that Cable told Dube to take her home.

Other items revealed in the affidavit suggests that there was a struggle when Cable met her attacker at the end of the road. Police found her shoes in two different locations and later found her hoodie about three and half miles from her road. A knit cap was also found with a hole cut in it, suggesting someone used it to cover their face. Dube denied any knowledge of the cap, but DNA tests matched the DNA on the hat to a sample taken from the suspect.

Nichole Cable was reported missing after she left her mother's house on the evening of May 12th. She told her mother she was going to the end of their dirt road to meet a friend. When she didn't return, her mother called authorities the next day. A massive search effort was launched as the community came together to try and find the 15-year-old Glenburn teen.

Her body was found in a wooded area in Old Town on May 20th. The next day, 20-year-old Kyle Dube of Orono was charged with intentional or knowing murder and kidnapping. He's currently being held without bail. If convicted, Dube faces 25 years to life in prison.
