A 17-year-old male led police on a high-speed chase that reached speeds of 90 mph after police responded to a reported underage drinking party early Sunday morning in Cary Plantation, police said.

State police received an anonymous tip that led them to a party in a field behind a home on Haney Road around 1:39 a.m.

One of the teens attending the party fled the scene in his 2011 Jeep Wrangler, sideswiping another vehicle as he drove away, police said in a Sunday news release.

Police said the Jeep traveled at a high rate of speed, eventually making its way onto Route 1 southbound. The vehicle went off the roadway near the Orient Port of Entry.

The juvenile male was apprehended after a short foot chase. He was arrested and transported to the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Police said the teen, who was not hurt in the accident, will face felony level charges.

The juvenile male who hosted the party will also faces charges, including providing a place for minors to consume alcohol.
