Team Maggie Update Day 20

Nearly three weeks since Maggie received Lucas' super bone marrow, but there's still work to do! Maggie's counts continue to look good, but there is a challenge, and you can help with a prayer or two!

The doctors are now trying to wean Maggie off the IV medicine and transfer her to oral medicines. She does have a little bit of an abnormal heartbeat, and she now has to take an antifungal medicine orally, but can't. It's a combination of gross tasting and a tummy that hasn't had a lot of food and drink, so it balks when things come down. Everyone has told Lauren that if you hold your nose, and swallow it, you can't gag, but she won't and now the medical team is contemplating putting in a tube down her nose into her stomach, so we need some prayers that Maggie doesn't have to do that, and can tolerate the oral meds!

On the positive side, if you missed last night's update, Maggie received 73 cards and letters yesterday! The volume of mail and best wishes is just unbelievable, and the family is so thankful!

They will be donating 10 percent of all the dinner sales to Team Maggie, and there will be a 50/50 raffle. I asked Maggie’s mom what she likes and this is Lauren’s reply

“She loves the Boston bruins, lip gloss and scary things (ghost stories, vampires, goosebumps books etc) those are a few favorites but honestly just well wishes are all she needs!”

Please keep praying. Prayers do work! They’ve made those little white cells grow, and those white blood cells are what’s making Maggie feel so good. The change in in the past Week has been nothing short of miraculous!  Pray for a peaceful night and week ahead.   Pray for a sense of calmness for Maggie, Lauren and the entire Rudnicki family. Pray that those white blood cells continue to grow, and grow quickly!  Pray for healing, pray for strength! Pray that they can be discharged to the Neely House soon! Pray that Maggie can swallow the medicine and not need a nasal tube.
