A Chaotic 4th of July for the City of Bangor {Update-Shooter Identified}

Bangor police say they have charged Perrin Oliver, 43, of Bangor with Class C Felony Criminal Threatening and Class B Felony Aggravated Reckless Conduct With a Firearm. A man upset because his girlfriend was leaving him and taking his children was talked down from a bridge by a Bangor Police Officer.

In a press release Bangor Police say Officer Derek Laflin was called to the report of a despondent man on the outside railing of the Valley Avenue Bridge last night around 9:30.

City of Bangor Names New Police Chief; Council Confirmation Required

Bangor's City Manager Catherine M. Conlow announced today the appointment of Mark J. Hathaway of Bangor, ME., as Chief of the Bangor Police Department, subject to the confirmation of the Bangor City Council at its regular meeting on May 13th. Chief Hathaway was selected from a field of thirty eight applicants, four of whom recently interviewed for the position.

Fatal Stabbing in Bangor has Police Working with Attorney General’s Office

One man is dead after a stabbing in Bangor.

Bangor Police Sgt. Paul Edwards says they were called to outer Ohio Street last night around 6 p.m. and found a man bleeding in the parking lot. He died later at Eastern Maine Medical Center.
