A Chevy Trailblazer stolen from a Georgia family fleeing Hurricane Matthew was recovered by police in Ashland on Sunday.

The owners of the SUV, which was packed with the family's belongings when it was stolen, arrived in Ashland to pick up their vehicle Tuesday night, Ashland Police Chief Cyr Martin told the Bangor Daily News.

Joshua Brock of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Kevin Bason of Weatherford, Texas, have been charged with unauthorized use of property and are being held at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton.

Bason and Brock were pulled over after police responded to a report of two individuals acting strangely at the Ashland One Stop store. When police ran the plates, the vehicle came up stolen, Martin said.

According to Martin, the suspects said they were in Maine to “go fishing for lobster and clams” and work for someone.
