A months-long investigation into the distribution of cocaine, crack and heroin in the Augusta area has led to the arrests of two suspects, according to Maine State Police.

Loretta Barton, 57, of Augusta is charged with Class “A” Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs. Her charges were aggravated because of a 1992 felony drug conviction.

Nicholas Rolling, 22, of Lewiston is charged with Class B Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs.

The drugs were being sold out of an apartment on State Street that Barton is renting, according to state police. Rolling was present at Barton's home when officers raided the apartment on Thursday.

Both suspects were transported to the Kennebec County Jail, where bail was set at $2,000 for Rolling and $2,500 for Barton.
