A few students received minor injuries when one school bus hit another in Dexter.

WABI-TV reports that the school bus in front had stopped to let off some students when it was hit from behind by a second bus. Both buses were traveling on the Garland Road in Dexter. Officials say the driver of the rear bus may have been distracted.

Elementary, Middle and High School students were on the buses. Six had very minor injuries and were picked up by their parents. TV-5 reports one 17-year-old suffered neck pain and was taken to the hospital but has since been released.

Police are investigating the accident.
