Members of the State Police Computer Crimes Unit have arrested a Waterboro man on child pornography charges, according to a press release from Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Edward Vallee, 41, was taken into custody at his home on Meadowbrook Drive Friday.

The suspect, who works as a self-employed mason, is charged with two counts of possession of sexually explicit material of someone under the age of 12.

Investigators say an initial review of Vallee's computer showed thousands of images of child pornography. None of the images appears to be children from Maine, but that can't be confirmed until a complete examination of Vallee’s computer has been completed, the press release said.

Vallee's first court appearance is set for September 23 at the court house in Alfred.
