A standoff that started with an altercation at Bangor's Birch Hill Estates on Wednesday ended without incident.

Police received a report at around 1:00 Wednesday afternoon of a fight in the driveway of one of the homes in the Union Street complex. WABI-TV reports a man, who was believed to have a protection order against being at the address, had entered the home with a firearm and allegedly threatened violence.

The standoff that ensued involved Bangor Police Officers and the department's Tactical Team. They worked together to establish communication with the man, whose name has not been released. Police say the man had an outstanding warrant.

Finally, the man exited the home, unarmed, and surrendered to police.
