A Stacyville man is facing drug charges after he was arrested at a local gas station on Tuesday.

30-year-old Shawn Michaud had an active arrest warrant from 2006. He was spotted by troopers at the Irving gas station in Sherman at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday.

While the suspect was being arrested, police say Michaud tossed two vials of methamphetamine onto the passenger seat of a near by vehicle.

Police say Michaud was transported to the Aroostook County Jail, where officers seized some prescription pills and a bottle of methadone from Michaud.

He was charged with failure to appear on a warrant, drug possession and trafficking in prison contraband.
