Layn Wilbur, the son of the owners of Hancock seafood restaurant Ruth & Wimpy's, and his partner, Cinnamon Riddell, were killed Monday in an accident on I-95 in South Carolina, police said.

Police said the accident, which left four others injured, occurred when one of the tires of a northbound Mercury Marquis blew out, according WBTW, a CBS affiliate in South Carolina.

The car collided with a minivan, causing both vehicles to hit the median. The minivan also struck a tree in the median.

The driver and front passenger in the minivan were killed, and two people in the back of the vehicle, a child and young adult, were taken to the hospital.

The two people left dead by the accident were later identified as Wilbur, 44, who was from Hancock, and Riddell, 45, a resident of Sullivan.

Ruth & Wimpy's commented on the accident Wednesday on Facebook.

Florence County Coroner Keith Von Lutcken said the child and the young adult were expected to recover.

Two people riding in the Mercury Marquis were also taken to the hospital. There's no word on the extent of their injuries.
