A Solon man who was involved in a snowmobile accident Monday on private property near his McCarty Road home has been charged with operating to endanger, officials said.

Louis Roderick, 49, suffered minor injuries in the accident and was transported by ambulance to Redington-Fairview General Hospital in Skowhegan, Cpl. John MacDonald of the Maine Warden Service said Wednesday.

MacDonald said speed and alcohol may have played a role in the crash, which occurred around 2:40 p.m.

The Kennebec Journal reports that a Somerset County assistant district attorney was involved in the decision to charge him with operating to endanger.
