A Massachusetts man was taken to the hospital after crashing his snowmobile Monday night in Frenchville.

Game wardens responded at 9:35 p.m. to a report of a lost and injured snowmobiler, the Maine Warden Service said in a Tuesday afternoon press release.

Todd Malesky, 52, of Millbury, Massachusetts became separated from his group after crashing his 2006 Yamaha snowmobile.

Game wardens said he made it to a residence at 451 Frenchville Road in Frenchville.

An ambulance responded and Malesky was transported to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent.

Due to the seriousness of his injuries, LifeFlight was scheduled to take Malesky to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

The release said the accident remains under investivation, and the snowmobiler remains hospitalized.

Last week, the warden service urged snowmobilers to ride safely after a man from Dixfield and a woman from Wilmington, Massachusetts were killed in separate snowmobile accidents.

The deaths were the 8th and 9th snowmobile-related fatalities this season.
