Parts of Maine will see snow and rain Friday night, according to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service in Caribou.

Snow is expected to fall in northern Maine with rain expected in Bangor and Downeast Maine. High winds also are expected. The precipitation is expected to change to all rain on Saturday.

Another storm is expected to land in Maine midweek (Tuesday into Wednesday) with the possibility of snow in northern regions.

Meanwhile on Wednesday, the National Weather Service in Caribou released its local outlook for the upcoming winter.

That outlook calls for warmer than normal temperatures in the first half of the winter season, with the best chance of colder, Arctic air from late January into March.

Precipitation will be near normal, according to the outlook.
