The owner of Smokey’s Greater Shows and a ride supervisor for the company are facing charges following a pair of accidents in Waterville, including one that injured three children.

The Bangor Daily News reports that ride supervisor Arthur Gillette, 49, of Pittsfield, Massachusetts is charged with falsifying physical evidence. Owner Jeannette Gilmore, 61, of Strong is charged with failure to train a mechanical ride operator.

Three children were injured when the Dragon Wagon ride suffered a mechanical failure on June 12 and a rider who fell out of a mechanical swing ride was not properly secured in the chair, according to the Maine Fire Marshal's Office.

Gillette and Gilmore will both appear in an Augusta courtroom on September 22.
