SLOW DOWN: Motorists’ Site Lists Speed Traps in Bangor

The National Motorists Association is out with a list of the worst states for speed traps, and believe it or not Hawaii has more speed traps than any other state.

Here in Maine, we shouldn't be speeding, especially this time of year with less sunshine and sunlight. Not to mention the number of shoppers on the roads this month.

The National Motorists Association, a self-described "grassroots alliance of motorists joined together to protect our rights in the courts, on the streets, and in our vehicles," also compiled a list of "speed traps" in Bangor, based on user submissions. They include:

• Ohio Street near the Davis Road
• Interstate 95 between Exits 186 and 193
• Broadway near the Bangor Baptist Church
