As another round of wintry weather hits the state, it has arrived in southern Maine, starting as light snow, and that has caused slippery conditions.

It has also caused another accident involving a Maine State Trooper.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says Trooper Jessica Shorey was slightly injured when she was struck from behind this morning on Interstate 295 in Portland.

Trooper Shorey was responding to another accident in the area as roads were getting snow covered and slick.

Trooper Shorey was seated in her cruiser when she was hit.

This crash has law enforcement personnel in Maine reminding you to slow down when weather conditions change and remember the state has a mandatory move over law.

Just last week another state trooper was struck as he was parked and dealing with another crash.
