A Rockland man who suffered severe burns when he jumped from the second story of a burning Portland apartment house has died. The State Fire Marshal's investigators continue to look for a cause.

Officials say Steven Summers, age 29 of Rockland, jumped from the second story window to escape the burning building sometime after 2 a.m. on November 1st. He was taken to a Boston hospital for treatment of severe burns, where he died Tuesday afternoon.

Five victims were found in the building, including David Bragdon Jr., Ashley Thomas, and Christopher Conlee all of Portland. Maelisha Jackson of Topsham was also killed. Police say all the victims were in their 20's.

Several people escaped the fire unharmed. Officials say a Halloween party was held in the 2-unit building the night before the fire.
