Second Suspect Arrested for Drug-Related Murder
A second man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting. The other suspect in the case is due to go on trial this summer.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release that 20-year-old John Lopez was arrested in Old Orchard Beach on Tuesday. He was taken into custody at a gas station mid-morning and taken to the York County Jail.
Lopez is charged with murder in connection with the death of Charles Raybine, who was shot while sitting in his car outside the Parish Place Apartments on March 26th, 2013. In June of that year, Bub Peter Nquany, age 25, was arrested and charged with murder for the death.
Nquany’s trial starts in June. Lopez is expected to make his first court appearance Wednesday morning. Police say the shooting was drug related.
