A missing Greenville woman with dementia was found alive in a wooded area on Tuesday, nearly two miles from where she was last seen.

Clarice Jardine, 76, was reported missing on Monday. She was last seen at her residence, Mayhew Manor, at about 4:30 a.m. that same day.

At about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jardine was located by a K9 team member from the Maine Association of Search and Rescue, the Maine Warden Service said in a news release.

According to the release, her condition would be evaluated by medical personnel. Initial reports indicated she was conscious and talking.
