The York County Sheriff's Office and Warden Service are searching for a missing man from the town of Newfield.

A post on the Sheriff's Department's Facebook page says 34-year-old John Sciaba was last seen walking in the woods behind his home at 96 Stone Road on Friday afternoon, 2/3/17.  He's described as 5'10" tall, about 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing  a blue fleece jacket and hiking boots.

Officials say Sciaba is an experienced outdoorsman, but has never been gone for this length of time. Deputies and Wardens have conducted a ground search and used Warden Service aircraft but, so far, there's no sign of the Newfield man. K-9 teams are currently being assembled to continue the search.

Anyone who has seen or heard from Mr. Sciaba, or has any information about his whereabouts, is asked to contact the York County Sheriff's Office at 324-1111 or any law enforcement agency.

The search is continuing, but the Sheriff's office and wardens ask that residents NOT conduct their own search. At this point, they're looking for information only.
