The search for a missing boater in the Androscoggin River will resume this afternoon, after having been suspended due to bad weather conditions.

27-year-old Stephen Wines went missing while boating with his brother William on Friday evening. Witnesses called authorities after the brothers from Bailey Island were seen falling from their small boat and passing by in the water. William managed to make it to shore, but Stephen hasn't been seen since.

Searchers from several agencies looked for Stephen on Saturday but suspended the search that evening because of the expected rain and wind on Sunday. His family continued the search on their own yesterday. The Maine Marine Patrol plans to return to the Androscoggin this afternoon and, if today's effort turns up no trace, will use a search plane on Tuesday.
