Two people were killed after their vehicle became airborne in Sanford.

Police say the accident happened at around 9:14 Sunday night at the intersection of Grammar Road and Candlewood Lane. A Hyundai Elantra, driven by 20-year-old Blake Deslauriers was traveling south at a high rate of speed when the car left the road, became airborne, and struck a tree. Both Deslauriers and his passenger, 37-year-old Danielle Harrison of Sanford, died at the scene.

Police continue to investigate the accident.
