A Rumford man is facing child pornography charges after hundreds of images of children were found on his computer.

Public Safety Spokesman Steve McCausland says 41-year-old Jeremy Vashaw was arrested this afternoon and charged with one count of dissemination of sexually explicit material or persons under the age of 12. His computer was seized by the State Police Computer crimes unit in December. A search of the unit turned up hundreds of images of children.

Vashaw was arrested at his home and taken to Oxford County jail. He works at Sunday River and is on the Rumford town budget committee.
