Rt. 17 in Augusta [UPDATE]

[UPDATE] - THE ROAD IS NOW REOPENED.

The Augusta Police Department reports Eastern Avenue (Route 17) by Rebecca’s Restaurant is closed due to a 2 vehicle head-on crash. 

The roadway is closed while the fire department works to remove people from both vehicles. Life-Flight has been contacted to assist with transporting patients. Augusta PD ask that motorist seek alternative routes and avoid this area. More information is expected to be released later today.
